Fim-de-semana em Barcelona 

Começámos domingo de manhã pela La Rambla, a avenida mais conhecida de Barcelona, visto que atravessa a cidade. Dividida por zonas de comércio e interesse cultural. Vale a pena ir do início ao fim.

We started Sunday morning by La Rambla, the most famous avenue of Barcelona. This avenue cross the city and it's divided by areas of trade and cultural interest. It is worth doing all the avenue

Passámos pela La Boqueria, famoso mercado, mas como era domingo estava fechado.
La Rambla está sempre cheia de turistas de manhã até altas horas da noite, por isso é o ponto preferido para as inúmeras bancas de flores e artistas vários (desde mimos, músicos a homens estátua).
  

We pass by the famous market La Boqueria, but was closed as it was Sunday.  

 La Rambla is always full of tourists from morning until late at night and that's why it's the preferred point for the many flower stalls and various artists (from mimes, musicians to man statue).

O nosso preferido foi o Sr. Branco, não de nome, mas de cor, sentado numa retrete branca, a ler um livro que, como não poderia deixar de ser, era branco. Ao som das moedas agradecia com um grande e sofrido "esforço" seguido de uma expressão de alívio. 

Our favorite was Mr. White, not name, but color, sitting on a white toilet, reading a book that, as would be expected, was white. At the sound of coins thanked with a big and painful "sound" followed by an expression of relief.

Deixámos o melhor para o fim, a Sagrada Família. Nenhuma visita a Barcelona é uma visita completa sem se ver esta catedral, a obra prima de Antoni Gaudí, o expoente máximo do modernismo catalão.

We left the best for last, the Holy Family. No visit to Barcelona is complete without a visit to see this cathedral, the masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí, the maximum exponent of Catalan Modernism.

As filas mantêm-se para entrar. Mas na verdade não esperámos mais de 10 minutos. Há muitas bilheteiras e a fila anda a bom ritmo.
Em 2005, a Fachada Principal da Sagrada Família foi declarada Património da Humanidade, pela UNESCO.

The rows remain to enter. But actually have not waited more than 10 minutes. There are many ticket offices and the line moved at a good pace.
In 2005, the main facade of the Holy Family has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

Esta Catedral é impressionante por três motivos: o primeiro, pela sua  grandiosidade monumental; o segundo, pela sua inusitadíssima arquitectura; o terceiro, por estar em permanente construção desde 1882, o que é particularmente curioso e intrigante, pois não foram deixadas plantas do projecto. Quando estiver concluída, a Sagrada Família de Barcelona terá 18 torres: 12 dedicadas aos apóstolos, 4 aos evangelistas, 1 a Jesus e outra a Maria.

This Cathedral is impressive for three reasons: first, by its monumental grandeur, the second for its unusual architecture, the third to be permanently under construction since 1882, which is particularly interesting and intriguing, since there were no plants left from the project. When completed, the Holy Family Cathedral in Barcelona will have 18 towers, 12 dedicated to the apostles, four to the evangelists, one to Jesus and one to Mary.




O contraste entre o exterior e o interior é avassalador. Logo para entrar deparamos com uma porta com um relevo brutal... As inovadoras colunas e o espaço amplo e luminoso com um coro que estima-se levar 1500 cantores, 700 crianças e cinco órgãos. O altar e os vitrais atrás deste fascinaram-me muito mais que o exterior.

The contrast between the exterior and the interior is overwhelming. Soon to come come across a door with a brutal relief... Innovative columns and bright ample space and a chorus that is estimated to bring 1,500 singers, 700 children and five organs. The altar and the stained glass behind this fascinated me much more than the exterior.
